LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KOLO) - A fugitive wanted on charges in Nevada has been extradited to Las Vegas after his arrest in Mexico.

A search for Erick Rangel-Ibarra began in January of 2024, a parole fugitive suspected of being connected to the 2020 disappearance and murder of Lesly Palacio.

Through a partnership between the U.S. Marshals, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and the FBI, police were able to locate Rangel-Ibarra.

He was arrested by authorities in Mexico and Interpol with the help of the U.S. Marshals on July 12, 2024, and was extradited to Las Vegas on Thursday.
