SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - The ArkLaTex will take a break from the heat and stormy weather during the next week to ten days. Rain will be very limited with temperatures staying near or below normal. We could have some of the coolest air in months by next weekend.

Severe weather worries? As of right now, I don’t see any concerns. A cold front will bring a very small chance of rain sometime during the last half of the week. Severe weather is looking highly unlikely.

Tropical Worries? It also looks as if things will stay quiet in the tropics. NHC is watching a disturbance in the far eastern Atlantic. It’s doubtful that this will make it far enough west to impact the US. It’s also possible that the tropics stay quiet through the first half of September.
