PETERSBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Victoria was a bald eagle impacted by one of the worst oil spills in America–the Exxon Valdez. She was brought to the Berkshire Bird Paradise in Petersburgh where she was able to recover and has called this place home ever since. She’s passed away Tuesday, leaving behind a powerful legacy.

"There is still a hole in my heart, you know that’s the way it is, but on the other end, she was here a long time," said Peter Dubacher, founder of the Berkshire Bird Paradise.

“Victoria meant a lot to the sanctuary,” said Elizabeth Dubacher, Director of the Berkshire Bird Paradise.

Victoria was suspected be around 55 years old at her time of death.
