BREWER, Maine (WABI) - On Friday the Maine Veterans Project gifted a donated car to a veteran.
“It’s going to a veteran out of the Yarmouth area, a combat veteran that was wounded overseas in a non-combat injury. He essentially had to stop going to vocational rehabilitation, which is school that the VA provides. So his education came to an abrupt halt and this is going to get him back on the road,” said Doc Goodwin, President of the Maine Veterans Project.
“Twin City Tire said we’ve probably donated 60-70 cars, maybe more, and they said this is by and far the nicest donation we’ve ever received,” Goodwin added.
Friday’s donation was unique as the person who donated the car was there.
