A ceremonial ride took place earlier this month to celebrate the Silver Comet Trail and the Atlanta BeltLine through Cobb County.

The two famous trails — Silver Comet Trail, which extends more than 61 miles from Smyrna all the way to Alabama, where it connects with the Chief Ladiga trail to be the longest multiuse trail in the nation, and the Atlanta BeltLine, a 22-mile mixed-use trail slated to wrap around Atlanta building along the route of abandoned train lines — have become popular for residents.

Silver Comet Trail is largely used for recreation activities like running and biking. The BeltLine, too, has become a fan-favorite for cyclists and runners — even hosting the Atlanta Run Club — but is hearing increasing calls from some residents to fulfill its destiny as a transportation cor
