OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Two people are in custody after a missing child was found by Douglas County authorities on Thursday.
According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office release, an investigator was made aware of a child that was made a ward of the state through an immediate custody order.
The parents of the child, according to DCSO, were trying to circumvent that order by moving the juvenile to various different residences.
DCSO says authorities interviewed the parents on multiple occasions, and the parents gave false information as to the whereabouts of the child.
In June of 2025, the child was entered into the National Crime Information Center as missing due to the Department of Health and Human Services having no information on the location and well-being of the child.
