SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — Drivers should avoid a major West Valley intersection after a crash left a motorcycle rider hospitalized on Friday afternoon.

Just before 1 p.m., Surprise police were called to the crash near Bell and Dysart roads. Authorities say the motorcyclist was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.

Arizona’s Family news chopper captured video of the smashed bike and debris scattered in the middle of the intersection. A Chevy HHR also had significant damage and dents to its passenger doors.

Authorities are working to learn what led up to the collision. Drivers are asked to use Greenway or Waddell roads to get around the area.
