SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Springfield’s Rescue One says they are finding homes for more than 60 dogs rescued in Christian County.

In May 2024, the owner requested help from Rescue One, stating that his dogs had become “too out of hand.” The organization stated that the problem began with the owner’s refusal to spay and neuter the pets. With help from outside organizations, eight dogs were transferred to other rescues, 22 were taken in by Rescue One, and 57 were spayed and neutered. After the owner stopped working with them, the last few dogs had 17 more puppies.

Rescue One says it’s the gift that keeps on giving, and not in a good way.
