Ugly Potato Day got an injection of cash recently. Tyler Heppell, who started the food giveaway program a few years ago, received $5,000 from the Cloveardale Rodeo's youth foundation.

The Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Foundation, or CRYIF, awarded the money to Heppell and his food security cause in August alongside other foundation board members.

Taylor Monastersky, foundation chair, told the Cloverdale Reporter CRYIF’s objective, as a charitable arm of the Cloverdale Rodeo & Exhibition Association, is to give back to the community in ways that adhere to the organization's three “core” pillars: financial, resources, people.
