WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A crash shut on northbound US-131 at I-96 in Walker snarled traffic Friday.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Kent County dispatchers said injuries were reported, but it's not yet known how many people were hurt or how seriously.

It's also not yet known how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what led up to it.

All northbound lanes were closed for about 45 minutes, causing northbound traffic to back up to around the I-196 interchange in downtown Grand Rapids, a News 8 crew reported.

Around 6:15 p.m., only one northbound lane was blocked, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
