LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham Counties (CMHA-CEI) is letting people know its effort to bring care to Mid-Michigan will not stop because of government funding concerns.
For the last several years, the Authority has been working to bring a crisis care center to the region, transforming the campus of the former McLaren Hospital on the south side of Lansing.
Advocates are calling it a bright spot on an otherwise uncertain future for mental health care. When the hard hats and wood scraps are gone, the building will become a hub of mental health services, including a facility called a Crisis Stabilization Unit.
