Garrison’s Department Store in Morgantown cuts ribbon to celebrate new ownership

MORGANTOWN, Ky. – A Butler County staple is entering a new chapter.

Garrison’s Department Store, located on South Main Street in downtown Morgantown, is now under the ownership of Elijah and Payton Flener. The couple purchased the longtime business from Walter and Rosemary Garrison, who had run the store since 1957.

The Fleners say their goal is to modernize the shopping experience while preserving the store’s small-town charm. That includes plans to introduce more brands, launch online shopping and continue offering popular items like boots, jeans and dress shirts.
