The Alberta division of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) applauded the elimination of the federal consumer carbon tax, but has now turned its attention to the industrial carbon tax, which it says is still hitting Canadians at the pumps.
“We don’t have a carbon tax right now, and so I wanted to celebrate that, but it comes with a little cautionary tale. We actually do have an industrial carbon tax in Alberta. It’s frozen, but it’s super weird that we have one,” said Kris Sims, Alberta director for the Canadian Taxpayers Association.

The CTF recently released its 27th annual Gas Tax Honesty Report , breaking down the various taxes that contribute to the total Canadians pay at the pump when buying gasoline and diesel. Unlike previous years, the recent report sta
