Selkirk RCMP are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that happened late Thursday morning in the RM of St. Clements.

Officers were called at 11:16 a.m. on Aug. 28 to the intersection of Highway 4 and Provincial Road 508. Police say a vehicle travelling northeast on Provincial Road 508 entered the intersection and was struck by a pickup truck pulling a trailer that was heading northwest on Highway 4.

The driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man from Scanterbury, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 21-year-old driver of the pickup, from Arborg, was not injured.

RCMP said early findings suggest the vehicle failed to stop at a mandatory stop sign before colliding with the pickup.
