ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - City of South Fulton leaders took a group of residents on a tour of their current police and fire facilities to show them why they need new facilities.

More than 30 residents participated in the bus tour on Friday. One of the stops was at the fire logistics and fleet maintenance building on Plummer Road.

“It’s important for them to see that we don’t have the necessary facilities just do basic maintenance,” Fire Chief Chad Jones said. “We brought them here to show them the fire station, the age of the fire station, the living conditions.”

The tour also stopped at one of the police precincts, where the public safety director talked about the limitations of that particular building, along with the need for more technology and space for officers.
