LISBON The Sadie Van Fossan Pool in Lisbon has closed early, according to a Facebook post from Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson.

The Sadie Van Fossan Pool acts as the community pool for the Village of Lisbon.

According to the post, the pool has closed early ahead of the planned end of the season due to several issues. The goal is to repair the pool and continue operations next year.

Described in the post are several issues, including:

The water pump has begun leaking

Welding on the filtration tank had started breaking

Leaks have gotten worse

Mayor Wilson says that the problems the pool is experiencing are normal, stating that the pool is more than 60 years old and that many of the parts are wearing out.

The pool, built in 1956, according to Wilson, was built due to a grant from Sadie
