SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Brenda Pope-Branch has called the city of South Fulton home for 16 years. She and other residents got a chance to see the city's public safety facilities firsthand on Friday.
“It’s almost inhumane, the conditions, the working conditions," Pope-Branch said. "This is 2025, it’s almost inhumane, really, outdated.”
Pope-Branch toured the only maintenance facility to service the city's more than 460 fire and emergency vehicles. Officials showed 11Alive the singular gas pump to keep them fueled. Employees rely on issued gas cards when pump access is not available, according to South Fulton Fire Chief Chad Jones. Jones said fire stations don't have enough room to store trucks and gear.
