ANN ARBOR, MI – When hardcore Wolverine fans are looking to celebrate a victory over one of the University of Michigan’s biggest rivals, it might be nice to kick back with an adult beverage named for the occasion.
An Ann Arbor restaurant with a 87-year history as a staple for students and fans has filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the trademark “Buckeye Tears” — a wink at the mascot for The Ohio State University.

The Brown Jug, 1204 S. University Ave., already has a large variety of menu items named in honor UM, whether it’s Jim Harbaugh 10-ounce sirloin steak entrée or the “Best in the Midwest” Long Island drink
