The National Weather Service released a severe thunderstorm warning at 3:51 p.m. on Friday in effect until 4:30 p.m. for Baker and Malheur counties.

The storms may bring quarter-sized hail (1 inch).

"At 3:50 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles northeast of Unity Dam, or 18 miles southwest of Baker City, moving east at 20 mph," says the weather service. "Damage to vehicles is expected."

The thunderstorm is projected to possibly affect Dooley Summit around 4:20 p.m.

According to the weather service, "Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
