LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Close to 100 people are being celebrated in Louisville after officially becoming US citizens on Friday.
From music to speeches to celebration, these new citizens were welcomed to the country and Louisville by politicians, including the mayor.
The new Americans took their “Oath of Allegiance,” which is a formal declaration of loyalty to the United States.
New citizen Emmanuel Karinda is originally from the Congo and grew up in a refugee camp. He says the American dream is a dream come true.
