LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Doctors say 28-year-old Juanita Barnett is lucky to be alive after being found shot in her car on the side of I-65 Thursday morning. While she continues her fight for recovery, her family is pushing for answers.

“It’s not been easy, really, because, like, we don’t have our mom right now because she’s in the hospital, but we’ve been like strong and going through it,” said Breealle Barnett, Juanita’s daughter.

For Juanita’s family, the last couple of days have been overwhelming.

“I was shocked...I’m still shocked. I just can’t believe they would hurt my daughter,” said Robin Moy, Juanita’s mother.
