SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Another illegal gun was taken off Springfield streets this week.

Police say 32-year-old Justin Alvarez of South Hadley was pulled over in the area of Maple and State Streets Wednesday evening.

Officers had learned the car’s insurance had been revoked, and Alvarez had a suspended license. The police had also found a loaded gun and knife in the car and arrested Alvarez.

He faces a slew of charges in addition to 2 warrants already out for his arrest.
