SHELL BEACH, La. —

Members of the community and parish leaders were on Shell Beach Friday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the day that Hurricane Katrina made landfall and changed life forever in St. Bernard Parish.

Katrina left a trail of destruction in St. Bernard Parish, with major flooding and homes and cars thrown around. Advertisement

As the parish and residents continue to move past the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, they vowed to never to forget all that was lost in the storm.
