WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Ahead of the rival battle between Northside and Warner Robins at McConnell-Talbert Stadium, Demon Country honored a man that put their school and football program on the map.

"Robert was an icon," said former Warner Robins High School principal Marianne Melnick.

Coach Robert Davis had a winning reputation. In his 24 seasons, he posted 253 wins earning 18 region titles, three state championships, and two national championships in 1976 and 1981.

"Man, it was tough to come in and beat him here. It was tough to beat him anywhere, but especially at home, you was going to have a hard time beating us here," said Warner Robins grad and basketball coach Jamaal Garman.
