Dozens of paddlers will race across Okanagan Lake from Vernon to Penticton on Sunday.
The event, dubbed ‘Length of the Lake’, will see paddlers travel 100 km.
“Length of the Lake is a tough, exhilarating day on the water with some of the most spectacular scenery BC has to offer,” says the website of Penticton Paddle Sports, which is organizing the race. “Length of the Lake is 100 km long and Okanagan Lake can deliver all sorts of wind and weather,” the website states.
Paddlers set off from Kin Beach in Vernon at 6 a.m. Sunday. The race finishes at the Peach on Okanagan Lake Beach in Penticton. The record time is eight hours, seven minutes.
