FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — At High Country Humane in Flagstaff, there are dogs in every office and even bathrooms.
Also, all of the kennels are full because workers said cruelty cases are up while adoptions and fosters are down.
High Country Humane Director Tresban Rivera said the shelter is in desperate need of help.
“We have animals now tucked into every nook and cranny,” Rivera said.
They have over 100 animals on site, when their capacity is less than 50, plus about 100 animals in foster care.
The reason, Rivera said, is that the shelter is seeing three times the number of cruelty cases as last year. “One case has 27 animals involved in it,” she said.
