ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The city of Albuquerque's Parks and Recreation has unveiled new signs Friday to honor the city's hero K9s.

The signs, which will be displayed in Viste Del Norte dog park, will honor the K-9 heroes of Albuquerque who have saved lives, helped catch criminals, or even therapy dogs who have offered comfort in rough times.

The first signs are displayed at Vista Del Norte Park and Westgate dog park. The city is hoping to eventually establish more signs across the city.
