ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Hundreds of local kids will be going back to school in style thanks to a recent community event called Fresh Starts. The event took place on Thursday and Friday.

It was hosted by MVP Health Care in partnership with Love of the Craft Barbershop. Kids received free haircuts, manicures, and school supplies.

Organizers said the goal was to ensure that every child goes into the classroom feeling prepared and proud.

We know that back to school season can be really overwhelming and expensive, but all kiddos deserve to shine on their first day at school, so we're hoping that this is a way to support the community and take a little bit of that burden off families," MVP Health Care Brand Engagement Manager Annie Finn said.
