DICKINSON — On Aug. 11, the Dickinson Police Department (DPD) announced the creation of a safe exchange zone to provide a safe and monitored space for individuals to make exchanges.

“We hope the community gets an added sense of security when meeting other members of the public to conduct business transactions or child custody exchanges,” Lt. Mike Hanel of the Dickinson Police Department said. “This program is part of our ongoing commitment to create community partnerships and programs, which in turn, creates a better place to live.”

The exchange zone is located in the parking lot directly outside the City of Dickinson Public Safety Center at 2475 State Ave. North.

It sits to the left of two handicapped parking spots and is denoted by the words “Safe Exchange Zone” in bold blue text. Pos
