The Dream Café is closing its doors on Wednesday.

The board announced on social media that its unable to keep its doors open due to the many challenges music clubs face in Canada.

“The Dream Café has always struggled — especially in the aftermath of the pandemic when operating costs, including artist suite rent, insurance, and artist fees, rose dramatically. Despite tireless efforts, the financial reality has become unsustainable,” the board wrote on Facebook.

The Front Street music club, founded by Pierre Couture 25 years ago, was brought back to life in 2015 when the model changed to a music co-op.
