KLICKITAT COUNTY Wash. (KPTV) - An injured driver is facing DUI charges after crashing into the White Salmon River in Klickitat County on Thursday, according ot the Washington State Patrol.

Just after 7 p.m., officers responded to the crash on State Route 141 near State Route 14, where they found a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country partially submerged in the river.

The driver, identified as 48-year-old Rebecca Hawkins of White Salmon, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Her passenger, a 53-year-old man from BZ Corner, Wash., was unhurt.

WSP said the crash happened when the minivan hit a rock wall on the right shoulder, Hawkins overcorrected, and drove off the embankment and into the river.

Officers said drugs or alcohol were involved, and Hawkins is facing charges.
