ABC22/FOX44 - The Vermont Republican Party will hold its local caucuses on Tuesday, September 16th.

Vermont's GOP Chairman Paul Dame says in the ten years he's been involved with the party, there's never been this level of optimism headed into the mid-terms. Dame says the GOP will focus on four major issues, housing, education reform, public safety, and affordability.

You might remember last November; republicans flipped 18 seats in the Vermont statehouse.

"There's a lot of excitement, a lot of momentum in the Republican party, based on the big gains that we had last year. Really setting records for both in our state, and across the nation. In terms of how many Republicans flipped Democrat held seats," says Dame.
