ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Two men were arrested after authorities say they attempted to block Florida Department of Transportation crews who were painting over a local street mural.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, at 8 p.m. FDOT crews arrived to paint over the street mural on 9th Avenue South, west of 22nd Street South.
Fifteen minutes later, police say Andrew Oliver, 45, and Benedict Atherton-Zeman, 59, allegedly walked by the officers and sat down on the mural in the road in an attempt to block the FDOT machinery.
Officers say they told the men to move, but they refused.
