A WA police officer has been hospitalised with serious injuries after an incident on Friday night in Ellenbrook that allegedly involved a stolen car and two 16-year-old boys.

Police allege that at about 9pm the teenagers entered a home in Waterford and stole a wallet and keys to a Toyota Prado.

Just over an hour later the allegedly stolen vehicle was spotted by officers stationery at the intersection of the Promenade and Main Street in Ellenbrook.

The officers pulled up next to the car with lights flashing, before opening the driver’s side door and directing the driver to exit the vehicle.
