For four decades, an Upstate mother kept her wedding dress preserved in Greenville, in hopes that one day, her daughter, Maggie Payne, would be able to repurpose it for her own big day.

“We were looking at pictures — I had the photo of my mom and dad from their wedding and the selfie I took — and I was like, these are different,” Payne said.
