COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Three people are facing charges as part of what authorities described as a “widespread operation” to deliver drugs to inmates in South Carolina prisons.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections said 36-year-old Shataysha Quneeka Lewis, 41-year-old Devin Jamaal Kershaw and 36-year-old Coure Romaine Terry were each arrested in connection with the investigation. All three suspects are from Spartanburg County, per officials.

SCDC said their charges are linked to an alleged operation in which they sent books containing “drug-laced sheets of paper” to at least 20 inmates across 14 state prisons. The drugs included suboxone and synthetic marijuana, more commonly known as K2.
