CHEYENNE — In one week, Cheyenne officials will begin enforcing new seasonal restrictions on oversize vehicles parked on city streets to help address safety concerns, snow removal challenges and street damage.

The change has also created a boom in private storage options.

The restrictions, which were passed through the Cheyenne City Council in December, will run from Sept. 6 to May 20.

The city defines an oversize vehicle as any vehicle, trailer or combination of the two that exceeds 25 feet in length, 9 feet in height or 8.5 feet in width. Mirrors, lights and other safety features on a vehicle do not contribute to this limit.

Councilwoman Michelle Aldrich said the biggest thing that prompted the council to pursue the restrictions was that she had received repeated constituent concerns
