A second company is to deploy cameras in their bin lorries to check if people are putting their waste in the correct bins.
Greyhound follows Panda in rolling out the “cleaner bin imaging system” technology which has seen householders receive photographs of their bin contents pointing out what they have done wrong.
The Irish Waste Management Association (IWMA) said other companies are watching how the system performs for these firms – the country’s biggest – with a view to adopting it in future.
