A Birmingham restaurateur has revealed his year of 'hell' after telling police of an alleged harassment campaign at the hands of a stranger.

Kassim Sendukie, owner of The Blue Nile on Great Hampton Street in the Jewellery Quarter, said he had endured threats, verbal abuse and criminal damage, which had even forced the venue to close on one occasion.

He turned to West Midlands Police, which launched an investigation into his reports of harrassment.

Kassim, whose Ethiopian restaurant has been serving customers for 13 years, said a woman he did not know had been targeting him or his businesses at least once a week - leavers diners "scared" - since May last year.
