A hotel in Leigh is not being used to house asylum seekers, it has been confirmed.
Bosses at The Greyhound Hotel have spoken out, along with Wigan council, to address claims being made online.
Rumours spread on social media last weekend that asylum seekers had been moved into a separate hotel - the Haydock Park Premier Inn in Lowton.
This was quickly debunked by the company , which said it had never accepted business of this kind, or any kind of long-term stay.

A senior councillor confirmed there were currently no hotels in the borough housing asylum seekers. The government agreed to cease using two hotels in Standish for this purpose in 2023, he said.
