DAVIS, Calif. (KTXL) - On Friday, Jimmy Hernandez turned 100 years old. He decided to spend his birthday by driving from San Luis Obispo to Davis, where he jumped out of a plane at SkyDance SkyDiving.

He did it with his son and his grandson, and with dozens of family members (who live in the Sacramento area) in attendance. They stayed on the ground, cheering him when he landed.

"I just want to go and come down," smiled Hernandez. "I had no idea that this was going to happen. When you want to do something, you try to do it."

Earlier in his life, Jimmy Hernandez was a carpenter and he was in the Navy. He didn't start thinking about skydiving until just four years ago, when he was 96 years old.
