RICHMOND — The battle for Route 43 went to the Carrollton football team.
Carrollton led by 10 points in the third quarter before Edison stormed back and pulled within two in the fourth, however, the Warriors were able to convert a key fourth down in the final minutes of the ball game to hold on and defeat the Wildcats, 16-14, Friday night out at the Edison Unified Sports Complex.
“It was a great game,” first-year Edison (1-1) head coach Anthony Pierro said. “We had a lot of turnovers early on that put us behind. We battled back in the second half. We gave ourselves an opportunity to win the game.
“This loss is on me. I have to do a better job of calling plays and doing the things I need to do. That’s on me. We came back, and we gave ourselves a chance.”
