WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Birdies Social Club is throwing out its own first pitch in West Sacramento, located steps away from Sutter Health Park, where the Athletics will play Major League Baseball for the next three summers.

"Come on in. We've made a few upgrades since you were here a year ago," said Nick Wootten, owner of Birdies Social Club .

Wootten described the venue as a dance club, brunch place, golf simulator, and sports bar, aiming to be a little bit of everything to everyone and create a unique space.

"I think people are looking to have a quick bite to eat or drink before and after the game," he said.

Wootten is ready to hit some home runs and tee off with five high-tech golf simulators.
