SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Sunshine and warm temperatures are forecast for the long Labor day weekend. Valley temperatures will be pleasant to start each day but will climb into the upper 90s and low 100s each afternoon with widespread triple digits forecast for Labor Day Monday. The Foothills will also see plenty of sunshine and above normal temperatures throughout the weekend.

A few clouds will be present in the Sierra this afternoon but dry conditions are expected to continue through Monday, great news for those camping or boating. Monsoon moisture returns Tuesday bringing thunderstorm chances to the Sierra Tuesday through Friday.

Temperatures will gradually cool toward the end of the workweek.
