OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma State Representative Ty Burns, R-Morrison, pleaded guilty to domestic assault after court documents revealed he tried to gouge out his wife’s eyes and later forced a vehicle carrying his daughter and another relative into a ditch. Despite the plea, Burns remains in office, stepping down only from a committee chair assignment.

Governor Kevin Stitt and others are calling for him to resign.

Court records show the April incident began with an argument in Burns’ home after he accused his wife of allowing their 16-year-old daughter to drink alcohol.
