CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH) — Hundreds of people are without power Saturday morning in Cheshire due to a tree and wires across the roadway.

Cheshire police say South Main Street near Patton Drive is closed to all traffic as responders work to clear the area.

According to Eversource, as of 7:15 a.m., 425 Cheshire residents are without power.

Travelers can use alternative routes, including northbound Higgins Road to Oak Avenue and Cornwall Avenue to South Main Street. And on the southbound side, Cornwall to Oak Avenues and Higgins Road to South Main Street.
