EAST LANSING — Tate Hallock couldn’t have written his final moments at Spartan Stadium much better than what happened Friday night.

Well, he admittedly would’ve preferred to exit the field with a victory, but his Western Michigan team fell short 23-6 against Michigan State in the season opener of his final year in college football.

The former Spartan safety and Michigan State legacy knows East Lansing and MSU football just about as well as anyone who was on the home side of the field.

So making one last appearance at Spartan Stadium where he not only led his team in tackles but also scored the Broncos’ lone touchdown of the game was nothing short of special.
