For a half, the Morristown West Trojans did what they had to do to stay in the game.
Even as Science Hill racked up an impressive amount of yards, the home team made enough plays to stay within striking distance, forcing Hilltopper mistakes and finding a lightning strike 79-yard touchdown.
When the teams went to the break, West was within striking distance at 14-8.
In the second half, however, the Hilltoppers leaned into their ground game and ground up the Trojans with long running plays on the way to a 41-12 victory at Burke Toney Stadium.
“It goes back to execution,” Trojan head coach Alvin Sanders said. “We can’t have missed tackles. We’ve gotta finish drives offensively. When we don’t do that, it puts us in a (bad) position against any team, much less a powerhouse like Science Hill
