The National Hurricane Center on Saturday continued to forecast a system will form in the Atlantic that could develop into the season’s next tropical depression or storm.
As of the NHC’s 8 a.m. tropical outlook, the agency expected a tropical wave to emerge off the west coast of Africa on Sunday.
“Thereafter, environmental conditions could support some slow development of this system while it moves westward to west-northwestward at around 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic next week,” forecasters said.
The NHC gave it a 30% chance to develop in the next seven days.
