A St. Clair Shores police lieutenant testified Friday that he did not see evidence of criminal intent by any of the city residents who have been charged with double voting in the 2024 primary.
Lt. Eric Bowers testified at an evidentiary hearing in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens in the Stacy Kramer case that each of the accused double voters, including Kramer, were “making the claim of an honest mistake.”
“She (Kramer) didn’t indicate to me any criminal intent, and I did not find any criminal intent,” Bowers testified in front of circuit Judge James Maceroni.
Kramer is charged with two low-level felonies – voting by absentee and in person and offering to vote more than once – in August 2024. She was one of seven people – four voters and three election workers – to be charge
